The Journal “Tethys Zoological Research” is a serial peer-reviewed edition that publishes scientific articles on basic and applied issues of zoology. The journal presents reviews of recently published scientific monographs, proceedings and books, as well as brief communications, trends and information about upcoming conferences. It is an area for exchange of ideas and discussion among researches on zoology in local, regional and global aspects. Periodicity: twice a year, a single issue consists of up to 200 pages.

The Guide for Authors, Template of Manuscript and previous and newly published issues are available for a wide range of readers in online electronic form on own journal website (http://tzres.org/) as well as in the websites of Tethys Scientific Society (http://tethys.pro/) and Institute of Zoology of the Republic of Kazakhstan (http://zool.kz/). Article up to 50 pages (approximately 10,000 words) should be submitted in English (British spelling) online. All manuscripts are reviewed. The editors reserve the right to make minor changes in the manuscript of articles without approval of the authors. Publication *.PDF as a reprint is provided free of charge to the authors.

Aim and topic

Journal publishes the results of the original, innovative, and integrative research on the basic and applied problems of zoology mainly devoted to the various aspects of systematics, faunistics, zoogeography, evolution, conservation, biological and ecological peculiarities and economic use of some groups of animals. TZR is focusing on the following topics:

  • Theoretical and methodological approaches in zoological research.
  • Taxonomic revision and description of new taxa of animals.
  • Evolution and phylogeny of animals.
  • Faunistic and zoogeographic analyses/reviews.
  • Biology, phenology and ecology of animals.
  • Conservation of animal diversity;
  • Practice achievements in management of animal populations with various social, economic and environmental impact, as well as sustainable use of animals;
  • Reviews of recently published scientific monographs, proceedings and books, brief communications, news and information about upcoming conferences.
